June 6th

June 6th was Jason's and my 3rd wedding anniversary.  In some ways, it feels like time has flown and in others it feels like so much has happened since our wedding day.  I still feel like the luckiest girl around that Jason chose me to be his wife, and I think we make a pretty great team.  I am so excited that we will be starting a family together in just a few short months and can't wait for this next adventure we get to take together. 

Our weekends lately have been super busy so we planned to just have a relaxing evening together for our anniversary.  We have been casually looking for a new car for me to drive prior to baby's arrival.  Jason emailed me the morning of our anniversary saying he found one he thought was worth going to look at.  We decided to have an early dinner at Beck's and sit outside by the golf course (one of our favorite things to do) and then head over to look at the car.  We really didn't have any intention of buying it that night, but when all was said and done I drove home with my new ride on our anniversary.  :)  Pretty great gift if I do say so myself.  I have been teasing Jason that he should have waited til the next day bc now he has something really big to live up to next year.  haha  In all seriousness though, I am so glad we found what we were looking for, and I really love my car.  It is more spacious, probably safer than what I was driving and will be a great family car.  It also feels great to have one more big thing checked off of our "to do before baby arrives" list.

Babysitting Jax

Last weekend, Jenn and Jason had to attend a wedding so Jason and I were lucky enough to get to keep Jax for a few hours Saturday night.  He is such a great kid, and we had a blast hanging out with him.  Since our house is not yet equiped to entertain a 5-yr old, he brought over Candyland, Chutes and Ladders and a Star Wars sticker book.  Jason dropped Jax off at our house around 4, and we made cupcakes to have later that night.  Jax then proceeded to beat Jason and I at both games.  We then revealed Jackson's special surprise and took him to ride go-carts and play games.  I think he loved it, and he and Jason took a lot of pride in renting the faster go-cart so they would continually beat all the competition.  They were so cute riding around the track together, and I enjoyed watching them and taking pictures.  Once all the tokens and go-cart rides were exhausted, the boys out-voted me, and we headed to eat dinner at James Coney Island.  Many hot dogs and corn dogs were consumed before heading back home.  We played at the house the rest of the evening til Jenn came and picked Jax up.  Thanks Jenn and Jason for letting us hang with Jax for the evening.  We had a blast!!

Scottsdale

Jason and I decided to take a weekend away before the baby arrives to just get out of town and relax.  We headed to Scottsdale over Memorial weekend with the Rohlings and had a great time.  The weather was perfect, and the city and our resort were both beautiful. The boys golfed 4 different courses, and Monica and I hung by the pool and went to the spa one morning. We really didn't have anything planned for the trip other than just chilling out and catching up on rest, and our mission was accomplished.  I unfortunately took virtually no pictures on this trip.  I didn't end up in any of them, but I promise baby and I were on the trip.  :)

 After our facials and massages, Monica and I had lunch and hung out at the spa pool the rest of the day.  The spa was at a higher elevation on the resort up in the mountains and the view from the pool was really pretty.

 Saturday, the boys took the day off from golfing to hang with us at the pool.  You will just have to imagine me rocking my maternity bathing suit since I didn't make it in this pic.  :)

 Saturday night, we headed into Old Town Scottsdale to walk around and eat dinner.  It reminded me a lot of Mexico with tons of jewelry shops around except much cleaner.

 I loved all the landscape.  The palm trees were mixed in with the cactus and flowers with mountain backdrops.  Seemed disingenuous but very pretty.  There were also tons of cute cottontail bunnies scampering all over the resort.  I wanted to take one home with us.  :)

Harlingen Weekend

Jason flew in Friday night to spend with weekend with us as well.  He and my dad golfed Saturday morning while mom and I attended the baby shower.  Later that afternoon, we headed up to the farm so dad could show Jason and I the crops and new windmills.  The crops are looking really great for this time of year, and we are just praying the weather holds out til they can get them harvested.  The family is also really excited about all the windmills that are being put in on our land.....my grandpa especially.  He has been driving around checking in with all the crews each day and has even earned himself a hardhat.  haha  after driving around the farm, we stopped by to visit with grandma and grandpa and had a really great evening.  I just love being home, and it makes me so happy to spend time with family.  It was such a great weekend, and I am already looking forward to the next time I will get to go home to visit.

Showered with Love

Saturday morning, we had another shower for Baby M at my friend Brooke's home.  Everything was so nice, and the hostesses really outdid themselves.  It was great getting to see so many family members and friends.  I feel beyond blessed that so many people already love our baby girl and were able to celebrate with us.

Andrea was one of my best friends growing up.  I was so happy to get to see her and meet her precious little girl, Camille.

Aunt Ann read several scriptures that corresponded with different baby goodies.  It was a really cute idea.

Calvary Baby Shower

Last Thursday, I drove down to Harlingen after work to spend the weekend with my parents and attend baby M's first baby showers.  The office staff at Calvary hosted a baby shower for our little girl on Friday during lunch so the teachers could stop by during their lunch breaks.  It was so great to see some of the same teachers that were there when I attended Calvary as well as meet many new ones.  They had the most delicious cupcakes at the shower, and we received so many cute outfits and other fun baby goodies.  Thanks to everyone who attended and was so generous to our sweet baby.
