Goody Girls

It's that time of year again....the start of the Houston Rodeo which also means Rodeo Cookoff!  Jason's company helps sponsor the Goody Girls tent and gave us a bunch of bands for the tent for Friday night to kick off rodeo season.  We invited a bunch of friends and had a great time eating yummy food, drinking free beer (me excluded) and dancing to the band.

The Girls

Some of the Boys

Before we headed out, Jason found the sunglasses that he found on the ground at the rodeo last year.  Towards the end of the night, he decided to sport them in the tent.  Doesn't get more awesome that that.  :)

It's (probably) a........

GIRL!!!!

Jason and I went to the doctor this morning, and everything with the baby still looks great which is always so reassuring.  Baby was being modest and had her little knees together during most of the ultrasound.  We poked and prodded and invaded her little space for at least 30 minutes this morning trying to sneak a peak.  After a few brief glimpses, my doctor said she is 95% sure it's a girl.  I have the full anatomy scan in 2 weeks, and they should be able to confirm her hypothesis.  As difficults as it is, I am going to do my best to hold off buying smocked dresses and bows until then just to be sure.  :)  Jason had a suspicion it was a girl, but I was so convinced it was a boy that it still hasn't really sunk in all the way.  We would have been thrilled either way and are just so excited that she is looking healthy and active.  I know this precious girl will have us both wrapped around her little finger in no time.  We have not really even talked about girl names much so I guess it's back to the drawing board.....

In other news, I think my belly is starting to grow.  I am a little over 16 weeks now.  It is still smallish in the morning, but looks much larger by the end of the day.  I am just praying it is the baby making it stick out rather than the massive quantity of girl scout cookies I can't seem to make myself quit eating.

Any Guesses?

Jason and I are going back to the doctor on Monday to check on the baby and hopefully to find out if we are having a Little Mister or Miss.  I am absolutely DYING to know.  Any guesses before the big reveal next week?  Leave your guess in the comments.  I would love to hear from you!

Birthday Weekend

I had a fantastic birthday weekend full of celebrations.  Jason and I went to celebrate early with a yummy dinner at Ruggles on Thursday night.  It was great to get out just the two of us, and their white chocolate bread pudding really hit the spot.  My parents and both brothers were able to make it to Houston on Friday, and it was so great to see them.  We are so rarely all together these days; it's extra special when we have a weekend to hang out.  We celebrated my birthday Friday night with dinner at Lupe's and some cake.  Saturday, the boys all headed to the golf course while Mom and I hit a ton of stores and shopped for baby furniture.  We shopped all day and set a record by not buying anything.  We got lots of great ideas for the nursury and now have the difficult decision of making our final selections for furniture.  Unfortunately, the weekend went by too quickly, and we had to say goodbye on Sunday.  Thanks Mom, Dad, Cale and Cody for making the trek to Houston.  I had the best weekend with ya'll and love you all tons!  We are continuing the b-day celebrations tonight with dinner with Jason's fam.  I am one spoiled girl.

B-ball and a Birthday

Last weekend, we headed to The Woodlands to celebrate Bailey's 7th birthday with the family and watch one of Cade's basketball games.  Kristi made a yummy dinner for everyone and had things decorated so cute for Bailey's aloha party.  Despite being in January, Bailey wanted a beachy theme, and it turned out great.  It was so fun to get together with the fam.  Thanks Kris for having us all over!

Cade dribbling down the court.  He scored a basket while we were there, and played hard.  We were all so proud of him!
He was really aggresive on defense and did a great job.
