Bahamas

Over Memorial weekend, Jason and I along with Dan and Monica headed for a 5-day getaway to the Bahamas on our annual Mayeaux/Rohling vacation.  We had a great time relaxing and enjoying some of the prettiest water I have ever seen.  We stayed at the Sandals All-Inclusive resort and really enjoyed it.  We ate, drank, swam, read, fished, slept in and didn't worry about anybody but ourselves which is just what the doctor ordered.  We, of course, missed our kiddos, but it was soooo nice to have some uninterrupted adult time.

Sent Britt this pic one night before dinner since I was using the purse she gave me for my bday.  :)

Ahhhh.....my happy place

One morning, Jason and I chartered a boat and headed out to fish.  We landed 3 Mahi Mahi and had 2 more right up at the boat before they got off.  It was a fun morning spending time out on the water just the two of us doing one of my favorite things.

Doesn't get prettier than a line in the water and the sun coming up on the ocean.

The boat dropped us off at a little restaurant that grilled up our fish for us to eat.

Sandals owns a little private island off their resort so one night we took the ferry over for dinner.

I did a lot of this while on our trip.  :)

The morning we were supposed to pack up and head home, we got an email saying our flight was cancelled due to all the rain that Houston had gotten while we were gone.  Awesome.  We were all ready to see our kiddos so after spending the morning on the phone with the airline, we finally got booked on a different airline on a flight that went through Atlanta.  We got home much later than anticipated but at least we made it home.  All in all, it was a great trip and a perfect time with my hubby and our friends.

Accountants in the Kitchen

At the end of May, our accounting group at work spent an evening at Urban Chef for a team building event.  We cooked, drank wine and had dinner together.  It was a great evening and fun way to celebrate the end of our fiscal year with the team.  We made a surf and turf dinner and bread pudding for dessert.  Everything turned out delicious.

What was supposed to be a slow week at work turned out to be super hectic.  We had an "accounting emergency" right before we were supposed to leave for our event so a few of us had to bust out our computers for the first part of our cooking class.  Wine + journal entries = a good time.  :)

Cale's Birthday Weekend--Let's Party Like It's 1985

Saturday evening was the big birthday bash.  We told Cale that we were grilling over at Cody and Britt's for our late Mother's Day celebration.  Little did he know that a bunch of our family and several of his friends would be waiting in the backyard adorned in 80's attire to celebrate his turning 30.  He was utterly surprised, and we had a great time.  Cody had asked Cale a few weeks prior to borrow an 80's costume for a "costume party at their church" so Cale had something to change into when we arrived.  :)  We had pizza and salad for dinner followed by bday cake and cupcakes.  Brittany did a fantastic job organizing the shindig and making everything look adorable.  Happy Birthday Cale!  We love you and hope 30 is a great year!

Ad decked out and looking like an 80's princess

We used old toys/VHS tapes, pics of us from the 80's, etc to decorate the tables
