Showering Baby Patrick

At the beginning of November, I helped host a baby shower brunch at Ouisie's Table for my long-time friend Lynda and her baby boy, Patrick.  I am loving this stage of life where so many of my friends are having babies.  It's crazy to look back see how much life has changed since I met Lynda our sophomore year in high school.  We have been friends through high school, college, countless jobs, each others weddings and now babies.  I just love it.  I am so excited for Lynda and Derrick and can't wait to meet Patrick!!

15 Months!

On November 2nd, Addison turned 15 months old. She has grown and learned sooo much since my last update.

Height: 31.5" (~78th percentile)
Weight: 25lbs 6.4oz (~90th percentile)
Head: 18.74" (~90th percentile)

At 15 months, Addison.....
- is wearing 18 month clothes and jammies.
- is wearing a size 4 diaper and a size 4 night-time diaper.
- is wearing a size 4 shoe and LOVES wearing her shoes.  She tries to put them on herself all the time.
- has 7 teeth and a molar in the process of coming in.
- has started drinking her milk mostly out of a cup during the day but still takes a bottle before bed.  Her doctor told us we need to stop that asap.  Sad.  :(
- eats 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. She is still a great eater.  She loves fruit and veggies and definitely wants whatever we are eating.  She still dislikes potatoes and doesn't care for beans but likes most other veggies.
- RUNS everywhere.  She loves to walk herself in and out of school and just roams room to room at home.
- understands soooo much.  She understands most things we tell her to do.  I will tell her to go find a specific book to read, and she will come back carrying it.  It always amazes me how much she understands.  She can also point out almost everything we ask her in her books.  She also points to things and says "that?" when she wants us to tell her what something is.  She is trying to learn so much.
-she can point out her eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair, hands, knees, feet and her favorite....her belly
- is starting to talk quite a bit. She says Mom-E, Dad-E, pup-E  (all with lots of emphasis), bye-bye, no-no (and shakes her head yes or no when you ask her questions), Nana, Papaw, she can moo for the cow, neigh for the horse, bark for the dog, roar for the bear and lion
-is so loving and gives lots of hugs and kisses.
- still LOVES dogs.  She says pup-E at least 25 times a day.
- is busy busy busy. She is constantly on the move.
-She LOVES to read lots and lots of books. They are always her go to entertainment.
- Sleeps from 8pm to somewhere in the range of 5:45-6:45am and takes about a 45 minute to an hour afternoon nap per day.  She is not a huge napper but stays happy throughout the day so I think she just doesn't require a ton of sleep.

Addison, this is such a busy stage in your life, but a stage I am loving so much.  Your mommy and daddy love to take you to do fun things.  You love to be on the go.  We look forward to so many more adventures together.  I love you more than you will ever be able to imagine baby girl.

Little Ladybug

Although this was technically Addie's second Halloween, it was the first year we really got in the spirit of things, dressed her up and had some fun.  The church where Ad goes to school hosts a big festival so we decided to join in on the festivities.  They had activities for kids of all ages, food trucks that lined the streets and provided a one-stop shop for some Halloween fun.  Jason and Deanna met us at Addie's school, and we quickly turned her into the cutest ladybug I have ever seen.  I was skeptical that she would keep her costume on for more than 2 minutes, but I was thrilled and completely shocked that she LOVED being dressed up.  From the moment we put the costume on her, she was all grins and just thought it was the greatest thing in the world.  She loved it so much and had so much fun at the festival that she cried when we took her costume off at the end of the night to go home.  haha  Below are about 1000 pics from our evening.

Our little ladybug

I knew after our zoo adventure a few weeks ago that she would love the petting zoo, and it didn't disappoint.  She got to pet goats, a baby pig, a deer and chased a poor duck all over the pin.

They had an entire room for babies and toddlers with age-appropriate toys and games.  Addie loved playing with the balls and climbing through the tunnel.

We ran into Ella (Addie's friend from school) and her parents in the toddler room.

She loved the trampoline outside.

Takin' a break after a long night of running around.

This little ladybug makes my heart melt.  I seriously can't get over the preciousness of this pic.

RUNNING through the parking lot.  She was a busy busy bug!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

A&M vs Vandy

The last weekend in October, my parents came up to Houston, and we all headed over to College Station Friday night for a weekend in Aggieland.  Cody got us great tickets to the game and 2 hotel rooms at the Hilton for the weekend through work.  Cale also drove up Friday night to join in on the fun.  I hadn't been to a game in two years, and it was so fun to walk around campus and enjoy some Aggie football.  Addie loved being able to run around and did really great at her first Aggie game.  After the Ags secured a win, Addie had a slumber party with her Mimi and Papaw while Jason, Cale and I got in touch with our college roots and headed up to Northgate.  It was a weekend full of fun and family, and I'm so glad we were all able to get away together.
