Rockets

On St. Patrick's Day, Donna was kind enough to give us her company's floor seats to the Rocket's game, and Donna and Jess kept our girls to boot.  After work, Jenn, Skaife, Jason and I had a weeknight date night to the game and had a great time.  I hadn't been to a Rocket's game in years, and it was so nice doing it in style.  Thanks Donna!

Justin had some other tickets to the game and took Grandma Bev.  She had a great time at the game.  We all met out in the concourse during half time to say hi.

8 Months- LDM

On March 13th, Lila turned 8 months old.  As I always say, the months are moving at lightening speed, and our littlest baby just keeps growing.  This is such a fun age, and I just love this little girl with all my heart.

At 8 months, Lila.....
- is wearing 9 month clothes and jammies.
- is wearing a size 2 diaper during the day and size 3 night time diaper at night.
- is not really eating well at all.  She will eat the first few bites well and then is just no longer interested.  We are continuing to try new things, but it is more a lack on interest in food in general rather than dislike of particular flavors.  (I am writing this a little late and a week or so after she turned 8 months, she turned a corner and is finally eating well.  phew)
- is scooting all over the place.  I don't consider it crawling until she is on all fours and actually crawling.  She is soooo close.  She scoots all the way across the room, can get anywhere she wants and gets on all fours and rocks back and forth.
-She refuses to just lay still on her back and tries to grab EVERYTHING.  Makes diaper changes quite interesting.
- has started wanting me all the time.  If I walk out of the room, she melts down except when I leave her at school.
- is sleeping a little better in her crib.  She goes down around 8:30 and usually just wakes up once around 3-4am, then back to sleep til 7-7:30am on a good night.  She always starts out in her crib and ends  up sleeping next to me on my pillow every night around 3-4am.
- is still the most smiley baby I have ever met.  When you talk to her, she gets the biggest grin on her face.
- still really likes her paci and can now sometimes find it in her crib at night to soothe herself which is really nice.
- is sitting like a pro.
- has started waving, and it is just so cute.
- got her first two teeth this month (the 2 bottom ones) and is still chewing on everything.
- is in love with her big sister.  She loves to imitate Addie, and they blow their tongues at each other and just crack up laughing.  It is really sweet to watch.

Lila is just the perfect addition to our family, and we couldn't love her more. Happy 8 month birthday baby girl!! Mommy and daddy love you so very much!

Winnie

The day after the rodeo, I drove my mom and the girls over to Winnie so we could visit my mom's brother, Robert.  We visited with them for an hour or so and had lunch and then headed over to my cousin's house to see them and a few of my aunts.  It was a quick little trip but really great to see family that we don't see often enough.

There were some cows behind the house that come up to the fence so Ad spent most of her time feeding the cows.  She was in heaven.

Rodeo

One Friday in mid March, my parents were in town visiting so we decided to take the girls to the rodeo.  We had a fantastic day seeing all the animals and just enjoying the day together.  The morning started out a little chilly, but it ended up being a really nice day.  I will just let the pictures do the talking.

In line for the tram which was one of the highlights of Ad's day.  She kept yelling...."all aboard...choo choo!"

Scoping out the cows

and baby chicks

She was soooo excited about going on a pony ride.  She picked out the exact one she wanted to ride (Tex).  She was all smiles until the guy that worked there came to strap on her belt.  I think she thought he was going to make her get off which is why she looks like she is about to cry.  haha

All smiles once they got movin

She, of course, loved the petting zoo

They have a super cute "kid's country" area where you shop for vegetables and learn about milking cows and getting the eggs from the chickens, etc.  You then turn in all your items for some fake money and get to buy a pack of raisins at the end.  It was pretty educational, and Ad loved it.

Lila enjoyed "riding" the sheep.

It was the perfect day.  I love experiencing life with these two.

The next night, mom and dad kept the girls so Jason and I could enjoy a kid-free night at the rodeo.  We joined Jenn and Skaife and went to see Billy Currington. We had a great night out!
