Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year hanging out with two of my biggest blessings.  I am thankful to God every day that he allowed me to be a mom and to raise these two precious girls.  I could not be more grateful. After church on Mother's Day, we headed up to Deanna and Jim's house to have a late lunch and hang by the pool.  It was a perfectly relaxing day with family.

I hope every mother felt special on Mother's Day, especially my mom and mother-in-law who are both such great examples of sacrifice and love.

I woke up Sunday morning to beautiful flowers and some fun gifts from my sweet hubby and girls.

How did I not get a picture with my girls on Mother's Day??  Ugh.

Lazy May Weekend

The weekend before last, we had a few plans that ended up getting cancelled so we had all day Saturday to just hang out as a family.  Although, I was disappointed that our plans were cancelled, we ended up having a great day.  I took the girls on a long walk, we went to watch Jackson's baseball game, worked in the yard and ended the day by grilling with Jenn and Skaife and playing cards after the girls went to bed.  All in all, it was a perfect day enjoying the outdoors with my favorite people.

Ad after she decided she didn't like the chocolate she wanted as a treat.  Can't say I blame her.  :)

She insisted on wearing her uggs with her romper.  Some battles are just not worth fighting, and she looked so darn cute.

One of the moms at Jackson's game had pom poms and such so Ad got decked out to cheer.  I had no idea people decorated the stands, etc for little league games.

She HAD to have the cart with the car at the grocery store and stayed in it just long enough for me to take this pic before refusing to get back in.  I then had to push that monstrosity all over the store.  Go figure.

Cinco de Mayo

Love my sweet girls in their precious Mexican dresses.  I couldn't resist a few Cinco de Mayo pics to re-connect with my roots.  :)

Gotta love a crying baby pic.  :)

Our Little Monkeys

We have been having a super rainy spring this year, and the first weekend in May, we finally had a nice day so decided to take advantage and head to the zoo.  We got there early, saw the animals, had an early lunch by the giraffes and were pulling out by noon before it got super hot and crowded.....best way to enjoy the zoo in my opinion.  It was a great morning and both the kids and adults had a good time.

Ad and Jackson are big buddies

The animals were all out and active.  These bears wrestled around and were so fun to watch.

Happy girl despite my epic fail of leaving the formula I packed ahead of time sitting on the counter at home.  URGH.

Rohlings

I love this little lunch spot at the zoo.  It's so fun to eat and watch the giraffes.

Precious kiddos

Daniel snapped this pic and Jason and I acting like loons trying to take a pic of the girls.  haha

Fun day making sweet memories with friends.

Shop Til You Drop

On May 1st, the girl's school closed at noon for their annual field day.  Unfortunately, Jason and I were both busy at work so Deanna  picked up the girls.  She took them to the mall for lunch and a little shopping.  Addie had the best time and came home with an Elsa doll and Frozen dress, and Lila got her very own Olaf that Ad picked out for her.  :)  They rode the carousel and the train and just had the best day with their Nana.

Congrats Gary and Kathy and Other Weekend Shenanigans

In mid-April, my parents came in town for the weekend to visit, and we had a great time just hanging out.  Ad is pretty obsessed with her Papaw these days for all the reasons that are important to 2-years olds......eating chick-fil-a ice cream until you get brain freeze, hunting the peacocks in the neighborhood on the golf cart with your water gun, going to the fishing store, etc ,etc.  The weekend was pretty much her version of perfection.

Saturday evening, Jenn and Skaife hosted a 40th anniversary party for Skaife's parents, Gary and Kathy.  They had a taco truck in the driveway and plenty of drinks to go around.  We had a great time celebrating a great couple.  Congrats Gary and Kathy on 40 years of marriage.  What an example!

Too cool for school

Sunday afternoon, Jason bought some plants, and we worked on updating the flower beds for spring.  Addie loved helping her daddy dig with her Minnie Mouse gardening equipment.

These are the weekends I treasure most.  The ones where we just get to hang out as a family and enjoy ordinary life....together.  I feel so blessed.
