My Sister-in-Law is Totally Rad

Last weekend was Jenn's 30th birthday, and we celebrated 80's-style.  Skaife did a fabulous job planning the party.  Everyone wore their best version of 80's fashion, and we spent the night snacking on yummy Mexican food, having drinks and listening to the best of the 80's tunes.  It was a great party celebrating a great girl.  My parents were in town for a doctor's appointment that weekend and were kind enough to keep Addie so Jason and I could have a night out baby free.  We had the best time.  Happy Birthday Jenn!  Welcome to legit adulthood.  :)

8 Months!

On April 2nd, Addison turned 8 months old.  My sweet baby is growing up before our eyes.

Weight:  17 lbs 6 oz

At 8 months, Addison.....
- is wearing 6-9 month clothes and jammies.
- is wearing a size 2 diaper.
- is wearing a size 1 or 2 shoe when she wears shoes.
- is now 100% on formula.  I was really sad about this at the beginning but am starting to accept it.  I really do miss nursing Addie but am thankful for the 7.5 months we were able to do it.
- has started feeding herself puffs and is doing really well with it.  We may start introducing a few other finger foods soon.
- sticks her tongue out ALL the time.  It's her new thing and just cracks us up.
- is busy busy busy.  It is nearly impossible to change her diaper or clothes.  She flips over and is out of there before you can even blink.
-is a full blown crawler.  She started crawling a little after turning 7 months old and has really taken off.  She crawls everywhere and pulls up on everything.
- has not been sleeping as well as last month.  She got a little cold and ear infection and is now in a new environment since we moved.  We are going to have to go back to sleeping boot camp so this momma can get a decent night's sleep.

Addison is learning and discovering new things every day.  It really is just amazing to watch.  Happy 8 month birthday baby girl!! Mommy and daddy love you so very much!

Addie has made a habit out of falling asleep sitting up in her crib.  It cracks me up every time.

Easter Weekend

This year, our Easter weekend was spent packing boxes and making runs back and forth to our newly procured storage unit.  My parents were saints and came up for the weekend to help us.  Despite the long days and hard work, it was great to get to see my mom and dad.  Easter Sunday, we got up and headed to church to celebrate what Easter is all about.  Now that I have a baby of my own, it makes the Easter story even more real.  It's unimaginable to comprehend that God gave his own Son to die a brutal death on the cross for our sins.  Fortunately, His death was not permanent, and He is Risen!  We are blessed to serve a real God who is alive and here for you and me.

After church, my parents headed back to Harlingen, and we headed to an non-traditional Mexican food lunch at Lupe's with Jason's family.  I hope each of you had a wonderful Easter.

My precious girl loved her new bunny sippy cup.

Enjoying her Easter baskets from Mommy/Daddy and Mimi/Papaw.

Precious girl.  I couldn't love her more.

Mimi brought Addie this beautiful dress to wear for Easter.

                                                                         So precious.

Love these two more than words

Addie is so blessed to have a Mimi and Papaw that love her so much and make the time to see her often despite the miles that separate us.

Sold!

After some discussion and prayer, Jason and I decided we were "ready" to sell our house in hopes of buying something with a yard and a good school district.  On the Thursday of Spring Break, while Addison and I were in Harlingen, we listed our house on the market.  We knew the market had been strong in our neighborhood but were pleasantly surprised when we had two offers by Saturday afternoon.  After having both parties submit their final and best offer, we signed a contract on Saturday evening just three days after listing the house.  It was a bitter sweet feeling but definitely an answer to prayer.  We closed on the house today, 4 years and a month almost to the day after we bought it.  This was a great first house and has so many memories for Jason and I.  It was the house we bought just a few months before getting married.  We started our life as a married couple in this house.  We found out I was pregnant in this house and brought Addison home from the hospital to this house.  We have celebrated the holidays in this house and hosted parties for family and friends in this house.  We have spent lots of time in the common drive watching football games and BBQing.  We have developed a wonderful friendship with our neighbors Dan and Monica.  We made this house our home and loved every minute of it.  I am so sad it is no longer ours, but I do know that home is where your family is, and I feel confident we will make wonderful memories in our next house as well.  Until we find our next house, we are fortunate that Jenn is letting us rent her house.  Below are some pictures of our first house so I can always look back and remember it.  I hope these pictures will trigger all the wonderful moments we shared there.  So long house on Kiam.  In the words of my cousin's little girl...."It was a good 'ole house, but life goes on."  :)
