Zoo

A few weeks ago, my parents came in to visit for the weekend, and we had a great time.  The weather was cool and absolutely BEAUTIFUL.  Friday morning, we got up and took the girls to the zoo.  The animals were frisky, and we had the best day together.  Addie ran around and had so much fun she was asleep before we even pulled out of the parking lot.  I love that my parents make the effort to come visit so often and are making such fun memories with our girls.

The chimps were putting on a show and banging against the glass and running.  Addie thought it was the best thing in the world and just kept cracking up laughing.  We stayed and watched them forever.

Halloween 2014

We had a great time celebrating Halloween this year.  Addie was so excited to dress up, and we loved being in our neighborhood this year where lots of kids trick or treat.  Since Halloween was on a Friday, we had a full night of fun.  I left work a little early, and my mom and I headed to the girl's school to pick them up.  They have a festival every year on Halloween so we changed Ad into her costume and let her play for a while before heading home.  Deanna also met us to join in on the fun.  Once we finished up at the festival, we headed back to the house and ate dinner.  Mom had make 2 different soups to enjoy which was perfect since a cold front had blown in.  We let Addie trick or treat for a while, but her favorite activity of the night was handing out candy to the other kids.  It was such a fun evening full of fun memories with my kiddos.

The week of Halloween, Ad's ballet class dressed up.  She went as Doc McStuffins since we already had the outfit.

Lila bean dressed up for school

On Halloween, Ad's class was supposed to dress up like farm animals/farmers to go to their class pumpkin patch.  She looked so sweet.

I printed out the cutest Halloween bingo boards from Pinterest, and Ad and I played bingo with pumpkin erasers while waiting for the door bell to ring.  She loved it.

Accountaholics

On October 30th, our building complex hosted a chili cook-off for any of the tenants that wanted to participate.  Our accounting department decided to enter, and not only did we have a great time, but we won first place in both the judges award and the people's choice!  The cooking started bright and early, and we made 6 gallons of chili.  Anyone that works in the complex could come out and sample chili during lunch and vote on their favorite.  It was a great team bonding event, and our chili was delicious if I do say so myself.

We went with a Halloween theme for our décor since it was the week of Halloween.  I was on the decorations committee.

We nominated Michael to be our head chef.  He clearly did a fantastic job.

Happy Birthday Jackson

I am once again playing catch-up on the blog.  Back in mid-October, we celebrated Jackson's birthday with a football watching extravaganza at the Skaife's house.  We had a great time hanging out with friends and family despite the Aggies abysmal performance against Alabama.  Happy Birthday Jackson!  Hope you had a great day.

Deb and Drew were in town from Seattle and joined in on the festivities.

Blessington....errr...Dewberry Farms

All fall, I have been wanting to take the girls to Blessington farms.  They have a pumpkin patch, animals and various other activities for kids, and I knew Ad would just eat it up.  Our weekends kept filling up so we finally decided to go a few Sundays ago.  Dan and Monica decided to join us and bring Jackson so we all met early that morning and started heading out to be there right when it opened at 10am.  On the way there, we realized I had gotten slightly crossed up with the information and Blessington farms is actually CLOSED on Sundays.  Uh oh.  Ad had been chanting, "I'm going to the pumpkin patch!" ever since we left our house so we quickly went on to plan B.  Dewberry farms was open....but not until noon.  We found some random restaurant west of Katy and actually enjoyed a pretty yummy breakfast before heading over to Dewberry farms.  Fortunately, we got there well before it opened since we had time to kill bc that place got crowded with a capital C.  The pumpkin patch itself was pretty disappointing, but the other activities were great.  The kids had a great time and were none the wiser that it wasn't the original day we had planned.  I will definitely take a little extra time to check the dates and times next year.  :)

Attempting to get some sweet sister pictures in the pumpkins

As you can see, there were just a few scattered about.  I was envisioning piles and piles of beautiful pumpkins for many photo ops.  These were fairly scarce and many were rotting.  Addie walked around saying...."broken pumpkin" over and over.  haha

She loved the pony rides

My favorite picture of Lila to date.  It just doesn't get any cuter than that.
