Mother's Day

One of the things I thank God for the most is allowing me the honor of being a mother.  I know it is not a given and although the days can be tough, these girls are my life's biggest blessing.  I absolutely can't imagine my life without them and love them more than I can even express.  We celebrated Mother's Day this year at Jason's mom's house with a low-key lunch and an afternoon in the pool.  It was a wonderful day celebrating all the mommas in our lives.

My two babies

Jason found this fake snake at his mom's house and all was good until.....

Lila turned around and saw it right by her head.  haha

Trying to get just one cute pics with two busy girls can be quite the challenge

I got lots of fun homemade art from the girls too.  :)

How can a homemade mug and some precious handprints make your heart feel so mushy.  I just love these babies so much!

Addie's Ballet Recital

Addie has been taking ballet at school since she was 2, but this year was the first year she got to participate in a recital with a real costume.  She could not have been more thrilled.  My parents and Cale all came in town to watch her dance, and she was so proud to have them there.  I don't know a ton about ballet, but I do know my little dancer felt so beautiful, was adorable and had a blast.  I was tearing up and so excited to watch her dance. I love you Addie and am so proud to be your mom!

They each got a ribbon at the end of the show.  God bless Mrs. Shelley for taking the time to teach all these little dance.  The fact that she can get a whole group of littles to generally be doing the same thing at generally the same time is astounding to me

Daddy brought Ad flowers and a little stuffed puppy for a job well-done.

Mimi and Papaw also got her flowers and a little stuffed ballerina lamb.

This girl loves her Mimi and Papaw

What a sweet Uncle Rock to come watch his favorite 3 year old dance.  These 2 have a special bond.  They say it's the "ginger connection".  :)

Cale's Bday Weekend

My parent's and Cale came in town the first weekend in May for Addie's ballet recital which also happened to fall on Cale's bday weekend.  I had to work on Friday, but Cale and my Dad kept the girls home from school and took them to the aquarium for the day.  They had a blast as always with Papaw and Uncle "Rock".  Friday night, Jason and I had our mom's club end of year party so we headed out to a luau in the neighborhood for some fun.  Saturday was filled with Ad's recital (coming in a separate post), followed by a yummy steak dinner and cake to celebrate the b-day boy.  I love weekends with my family and am so blessed they are willing to travel 5 hours at the drop of the hat for recitals and the like.

Ad and Uncle Rock

Apparently it was the big white tiger's bday at the aquarium so they got to watch him open presents.  haha

pure joy

fun night with friends at the luau

Happy Birthday Cale!!!

Rounding out April

A few (or a lot) of pics that didn't make it into a post of their own.......

Addie in art class at school

Cody had a bachelor party in Houston and stopped by the house to see us.  It was his birthday so the girls and I took him to dinner to celebrate before he met up with his friends.

Happy Birthday Uncle Cody!

Addie went over the morning of our crawfish boil to play with Maddie, our neighbor, while we got things set up.  They both had princess costumes on and had so much fun together.

Not sure how I did not take more pics of our crawfish boil, but we hosted one for friends in the neighborhood, and it was SO MUCH FUN.  We had about 50 adults over + kids with crawfish, bounce houses, etc.  Hopefully, this becomes an annual party.

The kiddos loved playing with the crawfish.

Playing with leftover confetti eggs in our jammies.

Lila discovered she loves Cheetos this month.

They brought their purses to school on this day.

Nana took Ad to the mall and came home with 2 new friends.

Cale was doing a project with his kids at school and drew a Callie on the board for the girls.  #cooluncleaward

I planted hydrangeas in our backyard, and they started blooming.  I just love them!

Because 2 pacis is always better than 1

Kristi sent a bunch of hand-me-down clothes to Ad, and the girls were just thrilled when they discovered these dresses.

When you are at home and it's raining, you have a picnic in the entry and watch the rain.

And find snails on the door step.

Working from home when Lila bean was under the weather.  #multitasking

We go on loves of peacock hunting adventures

Sweet Hayes

Jason gave Ad her morning squeeze while we got dressed for work and came back and found her like this.  haha #shesnotamorningperson

The girls got to spend one night with their Nana.  It was Lila's first time to get to go.  They had the best time swimming, making cookies, etc.
