Hey Batter Batter

Jason's company has season tickets to the Astros games, and this year as part of the package, they gave out tickets to go take B.P. at Minutemaid.  Jason's boss was kind enough to give him the tickets so he picked a date and signed up.  He invited Dan to go with him and let him take half of the swings.  They checked in at the Diamond club where the Astros provided food for all the participants and their guests.  We then headed out to the field.  It was set up really neat.  They had an announcer call out the names of each participant as they took the plate and had their name and video on the big jumbotron in the outfield.  Both Jason and Dan hit the ball really well, and the workers kept joking that they were the pros of the night.  It was a really neat experience, and I'm so glad I made it downtown in time from work to watch.  Thanks Monica for being the designated photographer.  :)

Jason and Jenn's Wedding Weekend

On July 14th, Jason and Jenn officially became the Skaifes, and we could not be more excited.  They were married in a beautiful church downtown followed by a super fun reception at the Rice hotel complete with yummy food, dancing, drinks (for those that are not about to have a baby) and a photo booth filled with hilarious props.  Once the reception ended, Jason and Jenn had planned an after-party in the same room rehearsal dinner was held.  They had a slide show, more late-night drinking and dancing and little sliders to snack on to keep everyone's energy up.  A fantastic time was had by all.  The weekend could not have been more perfect, and we are thrilled for the happy couple.

Rehearsal/Rehearsal Dinner:

They had mini desserts at rehearsal dinner that were so yummy and cute!

Pre-Wedding Beautification
Jenn was so kind to hire a few hairdressers and makeup artists to come and make us all beautiful before the wedding.  We all met in her suite at the Magnolia hotel at 8am the morning of the wedding.  We had breakfast to snack on courtesy of some of the bridesmaids and all had fun getting ready together.  I had never had airbrush makeup and fake eyelashes before, but I must say I loved them both.  It was so great to be pampered for the morning.  Thanks so much Jenn!!

Jenn reading her card from Jason.  She laughed and cried while reading it.  I love those sweet moments.

 Beautiful mom and daughter
We took a limo from the hotel to the church.  It was raining when we left, but the weather ended up being really nice once the wedding began and for the rest of the evening.

Somehow I didn't get any pictures of Jason and I on the wedding day and don't have any pics of the actual wedding.  I am going to try to get some from the photographer and will update with those later.

Maternity Pics

Two of my good friends, Katy and Monica, are hobbyist photographers and are trying to build a portfolio of pictures.  They offered to take my maternity pictures, and I happily agreed.  The weather ended up being rainy and gross the day we chose the take the pics, but they did a great job regardless.  We all had a blast together, and I was really happy with the results.  We started out taking some pics at our house that showed my bare belly that are actually some of my favorites, but I don't think I am brave enough to post on the blog. We then headed downtown and took some in the theater district.  Thanks Katy and Monica!  I know I will love having these pictures to remember this special time in our lives.  These were taken when I was around 35 weeks along.
