Harlingen Weekend

Jason flew in Friday night to spend with weekend with us as well.  He and my dad golfed Saturday morning while mom and I attended the baby shower.  Later that afternoon, we headed up to the farm so dad could show Jason and I the crops and new windmills.  The crops are looking really great for this time of year, and we are just praying the weather holds out til they can get them harvested.  The family is also really excited about all the windmills that are being put in on our land.....my grandpa especially.  He has been driving around checking in with all the crews each day and has even earned himself a hardhat.  haha  after driving around the farm, we stopped by to visit with grandma and grandpa and had a really great evening.  I just love being home, and it makes me so happy to spend time with family.  It was such a great weekend, and I am already looking forward to the next time I will get to go home to visit.

The base for a new windmill going up.  The whole they dig is enormous and amount of concrete used for the base is really fascinating.

The cotton is starting to bloom and looks so pretty in the field.  Dad was explaining alot of the details to Jason.
The grain is just starting to turn colors, meaning harvest isn't too far off.  :)
Love my grandparents.  Aren't they precious!!

Showered with Love

Saturday morning, we had another shower for Baby M at my friend Brooke's home.  Everything was so nice, and the hostesses really outdid themselves.  It was great getting to see so many family members and friends.  I feel beyond blessed that so many people already love our baby girl and were able to celebrate with us.

Andrea was one of my best friends growing up.  I was so happy to get to see her and meet her precious little girl, Camille.
Aunt Ann read several scriptures that corresponded with different baby goodies.  It was a really cute idea.

Calvary Baby Shower

Last Thursday, I drove down to Harlingen after work to spend the weekend with my parents and attend baby M's first baby showers.  The office staff at Calvary hosted a baby shower for our little girl on Friday during lunch so the teachers could stop by during their lunch breaks.  It was so great to see some of the same teachers that were there when I attended Calvary as well as meet many new ones.  They had the most delicious cupcakes at the shower, and we received so many cute outfits and other fun baby goodies.  Thanks to everyone who attended and was so generous to our sweet baby.

28 weeks!

I am officially 28 weeks along in this pregnancy and starting the third trimester!!  Time is starting to fly now, and I can hardly believe our baby girl will be here in a few short months.  Overall, I am still feeling really great.  A good night's sleep is becoming much more sporadic, but that is really my only complaint.  Our baby girl is moving around all the time now, especially at night when I finally sit down and relax.  My whole belly moves when she really starts kicking, and Jason and I will just sit there and stare at it forever.  We both love watching and feeling her move and are getting really excited about having her in our arms soon.

Happy Mother's Day

I was lucky enough to actually get to see my mamma on Mother's Day this year since she had come up for Jenn's bridal shower.  Since I had hosted the shower the day before, we kept Mother's Day super simple this year.  We just had breakfast (mostly leftovers from brunch) at our house and sat around and chatted.  Mom left around 10am so she could make it back in Harlingen to celebrate Mother's Day with Grandma and the rest of the family.  Jason and I are both so incredibily blessed with moms who love us, and I know would do anything for us.  We love ya'll both so very much!  I hope all the moms had a wonderful Mother's Day, especially my mom and mother-in-law.

My sweet hubby surprised me with beautiful flowers and a super nice card on Mother's Day morning.  He really is the best, and I can't imagine my life without him.  I am so blessed that he is one I will get to raise our precious baby girl with.  Hard to believe next year I will officially be a Mom!

Jenn's Bridal Shower

We finally filed our 10-K at work last week so life should start returning to normal, and hopefully I will have more time to blog.  Saturday morning I helped host a bridal shower for Jenn at our house.  We decided to do a brunch buffet since the shower was in the morning.  We had lots of yummy food including yogurt parfaits, my grandma's homemade cinnamon rolls, sausage balls, sausage pinwheels, blueberry and banana nut muffins, mandarin orange salad, fruit salsa with cinnamon/sugar pita chips, and breakfast casserole.  I had been planning the shower for over a month and was so happy everything went as planned.  We had a great turnout with about 35 guests, and Jenn received some fantastic goodies to celebrate her upcoming wedding. Congrats Jenn and Skaife!  Can't wait for July 14th!

The mimosa bar was a big hit with the guests, and I thought it turned out really cute.  Gotta love Pinterest for new ideas!
We had several different juices to mix with the champagne.
Sign-in table.  We had all the guests write Jenn and Skaife a note for them to read on their one-year anniversary.
