Addie 2.5 Years

At 2.5 years old, Addison.....
- is wearing some 2T but mostly 3T clothes and jammies.  She is really tall for her age, and it seems like she has grown a ton and thinned out since her birthday.
- is wearing a size 4 diaper.  We need to get serious about potty training soon, but for now, we just aren't rushing it.  Ad is definitely interested in the potty and can tell us sometimes if she needs to go, but informs us she wants to go in her diaper.  haha
- is wearing a size 6 or 7 shoe and still LOVES wearing her shoes and has an opinion on which ones she wears each day. She has gotten so good at putting her shoes on herself and now does that for school each day.
-her hair has continued to grow.  She still does not like to have her hair fixed most of the time.  She runs her hands through her hair and says, I like it like this.  haha  She definitely has a mind of her own. We still haven't given her a haircut.
- Is still a pretty decent eater.  She LOVES fruit and eats it like it is going out of style.
- is talking in complete conversations.  I am just amazed how much more she is talking and comprehending than just 6 months ago.  She sings tons of songs and can tell us all about her day at school which I love.
-  likes to listen to music in the car and has a definite opinion about what songs she wants to hear.  Her Christmas songs are still some of her favorites, and she adds a little culture by requesting "My Heros Have Always Been Cowboys" by Willie Nelson when she rides in her daddy's truck and "Me and Julio Down by the School Yard" by Paul Simon when in mommy's car.
-is the sweetest big sister.  She loves to make Lila laugh and constantly gives her hugs and kisses and tells her how much she loves her.  She and Lila have a special bond, and it makes my heart so happy.
- is busy busy busy. She is constantly on the move and can make a huge mess in a hurry.  She is pretty good at helping to pick up though and recognizes when she has made a mess.
-loves going to school.  She loves ballet on Wednesdays and tells us about her friends.  Ad, Wyatt and Harper are the three musketeers at school.  She tells me all the time...."that is Harper...she is my best friend".  It is the most precious thing.  I am so happy she has made good friends and is having such a wonderful year at school.
-loves to play outside.
-She still likes to read books, loves stickers, coloring, play-doh, etc.
- Sleeps from about 8:30-9:00pm to somewhere in the range of 7:00-8:00am in her big girl bed.  Every now and then, she will wake up in the middle of the night but overall, she is sleeping really well.

Addison, words just can't express how much we love you.  You make me laugh and smile every day.  I think you are so smart and such a kind, sweet girl.  I feel so fulfilled and my heart could not be more full.  I enjoy spending my days with you and your sister.  Your mommy and daddy love you so much and are so blessed you are our daughter.

Mega Picture Dump

I am once again behind on the blog, and since this serves as our family's scrapbook, I am going to just do a massive picture dump of some pics of the girls over the last month or so to get somewhat up to date.  Enjoy!

wagon rides with "baby" Jackson

One afternoon, Ad was supposed to be napping, and she was just playing and playing in her room (she never usually gets out of her bed).  Once things got quiet, I went in to check on her and found her sound asleep on her floor.  haha

The girl's school was closed on MLK day so Deanna was kind enough to keep them since Jason and I had to work.  They spent the day at the mall, and the girls had a blast.

There aren't words for this kind of cuteness

Ad got a 24 hour bug in January and stayed home from school one day.  By the afternoon, she was feeling a little better and picked out a clean outfit (herself) and was snuggled on the couch watching TV.

She loves ballet on Wednesdays.

Showing off her ponytail.

My two favorite girls in the world

She looks like pretty woman walking around in my boots.  haha

Snow Day

In January, our neighborhood had a snow day at the park and brought in fake snow for the kids to sled.  They also had crafts, snacks, etc.  We met Monica and Jackson there and had a great morning. Jason took Ad on the sled one time, but after falling off and getting wet, she was much more interested in the crafts and just playing at the park.  Nevertheless, we had a great morning enjoying the pretty weather and playing at the park.

6 Months- LDM

On January 13th, Lila turned 6 months old.  Lila is truly the happiest baby, and I am enjoying every moment of this age.

Weight:  14 lbs 15.6 oz  (~28th percentile)
Height:  26.5 inches  (~75th percentile)
Head:  16.5 inches  (~42nd percentile)

At 6 months, Lila.....
- is wearing 6 month clothes and jammies, but several of her 6 month pants are starting to look like capris.
- is wearing a size 2 diaper.
- is wearing a size 1 or 2 shoe when she wears shoes.
- takes a 6oz bottle ~ every 3-4 hours during the day.  She is still waking up once per night and gets about 4oz usually between 2:30-4am.
 - is holding her bottle by herself for the most part.
- still really loves her paci.
 - we started solids over Christmas break.  Right now she just eats them once per day, but we are getting ready to move to a breakfast and lunch routine.  So far she has eaten sweet potatoes, carrots and zucchini.
- her hair just keeps growing and growing.  It is still a very light brown or dark blonde color.
 - has started showing a lot more interest in playing with her toys.  She really loves tummy time if you put toys on her blanket with her.
- is scooting and moving to get to her toys.  I can tell she wants to crawl so bad.  She lays on her belly and does the worm to scoot where she wants to go.  She is also starting to try to get her knees up under her, but we aren't quite there yet.
-is such a wiggle worm.  She loves to stand and roll and squirm around in your arms.
- laughs and smiles all the time which is one of my very favorite things.  She has huge dimples that are so precious.  She is really ticklish on her neck and just cackles and laughs when you kiss her.
- has turned a bit into a mama's girl.  Usually as long as I am holding her, she is perfectly content.
- is still sleeping in the rock and play in our room.  Her doctor told me at her appointment, that I really need to move her to the crib so I guess I am going to bite the bullet and do that very soon.  She usually goes to bed between 8:30-9 and wakes up once to eat sometime in the 2:30-4am range, then back to sleep til 7-7:30am.
- likes to read books and really pays attention for 2-3 short books. I have started making more of an effort to find time to read to her.  I used to read to Addie all the time and want Lila to love books like her big sister.
- speaking of her sister, Lila loves Addie and tolerates all her affection very well.  She watches Ad and just grins and laughs at her.
-has started babbling quite a bit.  She says dada and baba (although hasn't made the connection of the sounds with the objects yet so I don't really consider those being "first words").
-celebrated her first Christmas.  She did great getting passed around and being thrown off of our routine.  We loved having her with us this year.  She did great driving down to the Valley to spend Christmas with my family and on the flight home.  She really is an easy-going baby now as long as her belly is full.

Happy 6 month birthday baby girl!! Mommy and daddy love you so very much!
