D.C.

The last week in September, Jason and I flew to D.C for a long weekend to celebrate one of Jason's best friends' wedding.  We could not be more happy for "Goat" and Jules and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.
Excited for a weekend away together

We arrived in D.C., and the weather was wet and cool.  We were excited to kick off our weekend.

We stayed at the AKA Whitehouse which is an old condo building that was converted into a hotel.  Since the rooms used to be condos, they were very large.  We had a one bedroom/two bathroom suite with a mini kitchen and living room.  It was so fantastic and cozy.  We loved it!

As soon as we arrived, we changed and headed out to dinner at Pearl Dive.  It was nice to have an uninterrupted dinner with yummy food and good wine.

After dinner, we headed over to Off the Record, an old bar in D.C. and met up with Goat and the Pujols who were also in town for the wedding.  It was great to sit around and catch up.

When we left the bar, it had quit raining so Jason and I walked back to our hotel and enjoyed the cooler temps.

The next morning was slightly drizzly but still a great day for walking around and exploring D.C.  We walked around together all day, and my fitbit logged over 9 miles.  :)  We started out by the White House.

Then headed over to see all the monuments.  These monuments really do make you reflect on everything all the brave men and women have sacrificed for our freedom.  I couldn't be more humbled or grateful.

Strolling towards the Lincoln Memorial.

Washington Monument

Korean Memorial

Vietnam Memorial.

We stopped to take pics of the ducks to send to the girls.

We then spent some time in the American History museum.  The Star Spangled Banner exhibit with the original American flag was our favorite but you couldn't take pictures.

I also love the exhibit with the inauguration gowns of each of the 1st Ladies!
We then visited the National Archives and saw the original, signed Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc.

We also went through the Natural History Museum and sent lots of animal pics back to Ad.

Thursday evening, Jason and went to eat at BLT steakhouse where we enjoyed one of the best steaks we have eaten and popovers that may have changed my life forever.  It was the perfect dinner just the two of us, and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Friday morning, we rented a car and enjoyed the scenic drive to Charlottesville, VA.

That evening, we attended rehearsal dinner.

Jason had to be at the wedding super early, so I got dressed by myself in the hotel and took the shuttle out to Blenheim vineyard where the wedding was being held.

The venue was gorgeous, and the weather was fantastic.

We are beyond excited for this sweet couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness.

The groomsmen.  :)

Jules looks stunning

I was obsessed with all the fall flowers.

After dinner, we enjoyed lots of drinking, dancing and fun.

Congrats to the happy couple.  I loved getting away with Jason but was also so excited to get home and kiss my babies on Sunday.  Thanks to all our family who helped hold down the fort while we were away.
