Weekend with my Girls

This year for his birthday, Jason asked to have a guys weekend at the lake.  So while he was away, the girls and I planned a few fun things to keep us busy.  On Saturday morning, we met a few of Addie's friends from her class last year at the zoo.  She had so much fun running around and playing with her friends.  The weather was great, and we really just had the perfect day.  Later that afternoon, she had a birthday party to attend.  We stayed at the zoo so long, we didn't really have time to go home in between so both girls were exhausted from no naps and a day full of fun.  They both still stayed super happy which made for a happy momma.  Once Lila was down for the night, I let Ad sleep in my room, and we stayed up and watched a movie together before bed.  All in all it was a great day with two of my favorite people.  I look forward to many more girls days in our future!

Lila wanted to do everything the big girls were doing.

Since we had time to kill, I took the girls on a train ride.

Ad was sooo tired at this point.  She wanted to take a little snooze.  haha

We rallied with a second round of energy for a birthday party at Pump it Up

Nolan Howard Skaife

On November 12th, we welcomed our newest nephew to the family.  Nolan Howard Skaife made an early debut, and we were so excited to meet him.  We have prayed for this baby for a long time, and he definitely represents God answering prayers.  We are so in love with him and are so excited for our girls to have a new cousin who lives right down the street!!

A&M vs Auburn

The first weekend in November, the Aggies were playing Auburn at Kyle Field, and Addie and I decided to join my parents, Cale and Aunt Sherry for the game.  Since Lila is such a busy bee and rather enjoys her bedtime, we left her behind with Jason.  It was a wet and cold day and unfortunately the Aggies came up short, but we had a great time tailgating, watching the game and spending time as a family in a place that we all love.  Ad loves to be on the go, and she did so well at the game.  She loved watching, cheering and most of all eating the corn dogs.  :)

Love these two

Meanwhile, back in Houston, this little girl was cheering on the Aggies from the comfort of the warm living room.

So many memories in this place.

Kitty had to come with us to the game.  Ad kept making sure we had a ticket for her to get in.  haha

Manziel was the honorary captain for the game.  We were sure wishing he could have suited up.

Feast with the Beast

Since I can't seem to get my blogging act together and post updates in a timely fashion, here comes another 10 or so updates in an effort to get caught up before all the Christmas activities ensue.  My parent's came in town the first weekend in November bc we were all heading to the Aggie game on Saturday (post to come).  It worked out swimmingly since Jason and I had already planned a date night at Feast with the Beast, and my parents offered to keep the girls.  Dad and Cale offered to take the girls to the zoo Friday morning so my mom and I could spend some uninterrupted girl time together shopping.  It was such a great day.  We shopped, laughed, ate lunch and marked a few gifts off our respective Christmas lists.  Ad and Lila had a great time with Papaw and Uncle Cale at the zoo so it was a win win.

Later that evening, Jason and I had our turn at the zoo at Feast with the Beast.  I had never been and always wanted to go.  The event didn't disappoint.  Over 60 of Houston's restaurants come and serve bite size pieces of their delicious food, and there is beer and wine throughout.  You walk around the zoo and can view live feedings of some of the animals (we saw the Cougars, Tiger and Lions), and the evening culminated with a concert by Better than Ezra.  Dan and Monica met us there, and it was my definition of a perfect date night!

Ad is obsessed with her pink cowboy boots and insisted that she must wear them to the zoo.  :)

My parents took the girls to eat while Jason and I went out.  They sent us this pic of Lila who was apparently enjoying the bread.  :)

They fed the lions pigs, and all they were all up and active.  So fun to see!

I hadn't seen Better than Ezra play since college.  Other than the weather being pretty steamy, it was a perfect night!
