Happy Thanksgiving

This year was our year to spend Thanksgiving with Jason's family, and we hosted at our house.  Everyone brought food, and we had a super yummy lunch of turkey, ham, ribs and all the fixings.  We have so much to be thankful for, and I love having a day dedicated to reflecting on all of our blessings.

So thankful for these two girls!

My mom sent them these adorable outfits to wear for Thanksgiving.

I decided to keep things simple and use paper plates but used real glasses and silverware

We made place cards for everyone, and Ad made sure to make one for baby Nolan to put at Aunt Jenn's spot.  It was soo cute.  Can't believe we didn't have a pic of him for this first Thanksgiving, but he stayed bundled up in his carrier fast asleep to avoid germs.  :)

My parents decided to go to Cabo for Thanksgiving to have a late celebration of their 35th wedding anniversary so Cale came up and joined us.  We loved having him here, and Addie was especially thrilled.  They are such big buddies.

Nutcracker

The weekend before Thanksgiving, my cousin's daughter was dancing in the Nutcracker performance for her dance studio in the The Woodlands so Addie and I decided to head up and watch her dance.  Bailey did so well, and we were so proud of her.  Bailey is sooooo sweet with Ad, and I love that she has sweet older cousins to look up to.

I seriously could not love her more.  I am obsessed with this picture!!

Grandparent's Day

The girl's school celebrated Grandparent's Day in November so Deanna went and spent the morning with them at school.  Addie could not have been more thrilled.  They had breakfast, went to a special chapel service, went to the book fair, and then spent some time in the classroom.  I love that the school put this together and love that the girls have such great relationships with all of their grandparents.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Jason never likes to make a big deal out of his birthday, but we still wanted to make it special for him. Addie's class had a Thanksgiving feast the day of his bday, so he went to have lunch with her at school.  She was so excited that he met her for lunch. That evening, we grilled steaks and gave him his birthday gifts. It was a low key day celebrating Jason!  We are so thankful for him and all he does for us.

Sweet Lila

Ad's Thanksgiving feast.  Mimi and Papaw were so proud to make the "thankful list" on her placemat.

Our little turkey

The girls helping Daddy open presents.  Don't mind the shirtless girls.  They ate spaghetti for dinner which is always a shirtless affair (for the kids) at our house.

When they pulled out Jason's gift, Addie proclaimed, "Daddy, you got your very own purse!!!"  haha

Weekend with my Girls

This year for his birthday, Jason asked to have a guys weekend at the lake.  So while he was away, the girls and I planned a few fun things to keep us busy.  On Saturday morning, we met a few of Addie's friends from her class last year at the zoo.  She had so much fun running around and playing with her friends.  The weather was great, and we really just had the perfect day.  Later that afternoon, she had a birthday party to attend.  We stayed at the zoo so long, we didn't really have time to go home in between so both girls were exhausted from no naps and a day full of fun.  They both still stayed super happy which made for a happy momma.  Once Lila was down for the night, I let Ad sleep in my room, and we stayed up and watched a movie together before bed.  All in all it was a great day with two of my favorite people.  I look forward to many more girls days in our future!

Since we had time to kill, I took the girls on a train ride.

Ad was sooo tired at this point.  She wanted to take a little snooze.  haha
