Another Kind of Diamond I Like

Last Saturday, my boss graciously gave me two tickets to our company's diamond box seats for the Astros game with a great parking pass to boot.  I worked that day, but Jason and I headed up to the game when I got off.  Along with the great second row view behind home plate, our tickets also included a buffet dinner and all the popcorn, hot dogs, cracker jacks, etc that you could eat.  I felt so spoiled.  It won't be the same next time when I have to return to the cheap seats.  :)  A few other co-workers were there, and we had a great time.  The Astros ended up pulling out a victory, and Jason and I made several tv debuts throughout the night since we were right behind home plate.  Thanks BMC for a fun night out!

First Cupcakes and Family

A few weekends ago, the Horton's and the Stocker's hosted a French poodle themed double birthday party for Maddie Grace who turned 1 and Callie who turned 2.  I love both of these little girls and was so excited to celebrate with them.  I took a ton of pictures so without further ado.....

Kelsey and Kristi had everything looking so cute and girlie
 Maddie in her birthday tutu
 Ross and Macie Jane
Bailey and Shelby put on a fashion show for us.  Look at this cutie...what a ham.

It's my party and I can cry if I want to....

Poor Cade had the stomach flu so he watched Maddie eat her cupcake from the balcony.  He was so kind to pass that stomach virus on to Ross, Shelby, and myself.

Kels and I were the designated photographers so this was the one picture we were in.

Maddie has already learned that calories don't count on your birthday and helped herself to a second cupcake courtesy of her grandpa.
Even MG had her turn at the piñata

Sunday at the Shell

The first weekend in April, the Shell Houston Open was in town so we decided to head out and catch some of the action.  Jason and I headed up to Redstone Golf Club in Humble with Dan and Monica to catch the final round.  We had a great time and got to see soooo many famous golfers.  My man Phil Mickelson ended up winning the tournament so I was super pumped.  After a full day of golf, we all headed back to town to grab a yummy burger from Beck's before going home to watch the Aggie women's basketball team win the National Championship!!  The day could not have been better.  Cameras were strickly forbidden at the golf tournament, but since I just HAD to have some blog material I snuck a few with my phone.

Monica and I....our only disappointment of the day was when we found out that cutie Dustin Johnson wasn't playing in the Shell this year.
The course was in great shape, and they had pretty flower Shell symbols all around.  This is the 18th tee where we watched Lee Westwood tee off.  :)

50th Birthdays

Last weekend Jason and I headed down to Pasadena to celebrate the 50th birthdays of two of Jason's co-workers.  We grilled fajitas, and everyone brought sides and dessert.  The weather was perfect, and I had a good time meeting the families of Jason's co-workers.  Happy Birthday Troy and Linda.

I had a great time playing with little John in the backyard.  Isn't he the cutest little boy!!  Love those baby blues.

Memories

The last weekend in March, Jason was playing in a softball tournament all day Saturday so I headed over to College Station to visit my cousin Kelsey and her family.  Kelsey and I have soooo many memories together, and it means the world to me that now I get to be a part of her kids life.  Callie and Macie are so precious, and I had the best time getting to play with them.  Callie, especially, is at such a fun age.  She was talking so much more than last time I saw her and really warmed up to me this time.  It was a low-key weekend with time at the park, eating yummy meals, and lots and lots of talking and catching up.  Kelsey keeps reminding me that Jason and I need to hurry and have kids so our kids can be close growing up like we were.  I am so very blessed to have Kelsey's friendship and cherish the time we get to spend together.  Here are some pics of the stars of the weekend......

Just Mac

A few weeks ago, Jason and I headed to a new restaurant in the heights called Just Mac with Dan and Monica.  It's small with a really cute outdoor patio complete with white lights in the trees.  The evening was perfect for sitting outside, and we had a great time.  The restaurant, like its name, serves just mac.....mac and cheese that is. We all shared fried mac balls as an appetizer followed by 4-cheese mac, taco mac, BBQ brisket mac, and Mexican mac.  It most likely does not rank among the most low-cal meals I have eaten, but it was a fun concept and we had a great time.

Monica and I each ordered a glass of wine to go with our mac, and it came in these shot-type glasses.  We found it rather comical at the time.
They were so full when they brought them, we had to take a sip before picking them up.  haha
I didn't think to take a before pic....this is after we started digging in.

Final Rodeo Post for 2011

On St. Patrick's Day, I headed back to the rodeo with Melissa and her roommate, Casey, to see Zac Brown Band.  I always have a blast with these two girls and that night was no different.  The rodeo was super packed (prob bc it was Spring Break week) which made for an energetic crowd.  We had front and center tickets, thanks to another of Melissa's PWC partners, to watch Zac Brown put on a fantastic show.  They played all of my favorites plus an awesome rendition of Devil Went Down to Georgia that got the crowd rockin' and ended the night with our national anthem.  It was the perfect way to close out the rodeo for the year.  Thanks again Melissa for letting me piggy back on your public accounting perks.  I had a great time as usual!!

I look like such a shorty next to these two.
 Love this girl!!
