Best Weekend

Last weekend, I had the best weekend.  I started the weekend with no real plans but ended up having the best time.  Friday night, Jason, Addie and I went to dinner just the three of us.  We had a fun time with our little family.  Saturday, Addie and I went to lunch at Gloria's for Melissa's 30th b-day.  They were having a beach-themed pub crawl, but since I had Ad with me, I only attended lunch.  It was great to catch up with friends and celebrate one of my best friend's birthdays.  Happy Birthday Melissa!!  That afternoon, Jason went and bought a little plastic pool for Ad to go "swimming".  It was her first swim, and she LOVED it.  I see lots of time in the pool this summer.  Sunday afternoon, Jason and Skaife had to go help Donna move some things so Jenn and I took Addison and Jackson to the zoo.  It was a hot hot afternoon, but we had a great time with the kiddos.  I love weekends like this with family and the outdoors and can't wait for many more like it this summer.  It is the little things in life that make it so special, and I want to remember this weekend for a long, long time!  Prepare for picture overload below:

Happy Birthday Melissa!

My First Mother's Day

Becoming a mother has been one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me.  Addison makes my life feel complete.  Mothering her is a ton of work, but honestly, there is nothing I would rather do.  Jason and I are both blessed with wonderful mother's who have taught us how to be great parents.  We are both so thankful for our moms, and although we appreciate them every day, it's nice there is a day set aside to honor them.  Unfortunately, my mom lives far away so I didn't get to see her on Mother's Day, but we were able to spend the afternoon with Deanna.  We got together with the family for a late lunch and just hung out.  The boys watched golfed, we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and ate tons of yummy food.  It was truly a fantastic day.
A few pics with my girl:

Dad even snuck in for a few:

Jason and Addie made my first Mother's Day so special.  We woke up early, and they gave my this cute bag to use on our upcoming vacation.  As part of my gift, I am also going to the spa when we head to Florida.  Can't wait!

I received two roses....one from my sweet hubby and one from my sweet baby.  :)

I made this yummy strawberry cake to take for Mother's Day lunch, and it was TO DIE FOR.  I am already wanting an excuse to make it again.

Cinco de Mayo

We had plans to go to Harrison and Brandi's to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  I was so excited that Addie would be able to wear her cute little Mexican dress and get to play with Kinley.  Unfortunately, after I came to the conclusion that Addie probably had HFM, I decided to stay home with Ad.  She was feeling terrible on Sunday, and I definitely didn't want Kinley to get it.  Jason stopped by for a little bit, but we decided we at least had to snap a few cute pics of our baby girl all decked out for the occasion.

Hand, Foot and Mouth

A few days after Addie turned 9 months old, we headed over to Jenn and Jason's house to watch the derby and hang out.  Later in the evening Ad started running fever so we left and took her home.  We gave her a little Tylenol and put her to bed not really thinking much of it.  When she woke up Sunday morning, she still had fever and was so cuddly (so unlike her....she is a busy bee these days and NEVER sits still).  Throughout the day, she started getting a rash behind her knees and on her chin.  Throughout the day, it got progressively worse, and I realized it may be hand, foot and mouth disease.  I called the doctor first thing Monday to take her in to get checked out.  As soon as I got the appointment, I got an email from Addie's school saying that other babies in the infant class had been diagnosed with HFM (the entire class ended up getting it).  Great.  I took her to the doctor anyway, they confirmed the diagnosis and sent us home saying it would go away on its own.  The doctor said she would no longer be contagious after she was fever-free for 24 hours.  We kept her home from school Monday, and she played and played so I knew she was feeling better.  Poor baby just didn't want to eat much due to the blisters in th back of her throat.  She took her bottles just fine, but every time we would put her in her high chair she would start to cry bc she didn't want food.  After a few days she was back to 100%.  The whole thing was honestly not as bad as I had imagined, but I am definitely glad our baby girl is feeling better and that her rash is all healed.

Hangin with Jackson still feeling well

Poor baby with her rash

Don't mind her outfit.  She had gone through all the pants I sent to school that day so she has her butterfly shirt and little boy pants.  haha

9 Months!

On May 2nd, Addison turned 9 months old.  How is it possible that Addie has been in our family as long as she was in my belly.

Weight:  18 lbs 7 oz
Height: 28.25"
Head: 17.75"

At 9 months, Addison.....
- is wearing 6-9 month clothes and jammies.
- is wearing a size 2 diaper.
- is wearing a size 2 shoe (her keds she wears with socks are a 3) when she wears shoes.
- still just has 2 bottom teeth.
- takes 1 4oz bottle first thing in the morning and then 4 6oz bottles throughout the rest of the day.
- has started drinking water out of her sippy cup while eating her snack.  She is doing pretty well with it, but we will continue to practice and keep improving.
- eats 3 meals and 1 snack per day.  We are really going to start working on finger foods this month.  I feel like I am behind on introducing them to her.
- blows her little tongue at us all the time.  I try to tell her that it isn't sweet to do that but it truly is so cute and funny right now.
- is clapping for herself all the time and waving bye bye on occassion.  We are still working on that.
- is babbling sounds (baba, dada and mama) but hasn't associated them to actual things yet.
- likes other people but can also still be very clingy to her mama.
- is busy busy busy. It is nearly impossible to change her diaper or clothes. She flips over and is out of there before you can even blink.
-will walk when you hold her fingers and pulls up and walks around the coffee table on her own.  She also pulls up on the couches and can transfer back and forth between the couches and coffee table easily.
- has started sleeping through the night 90% of the time.  She usually goes down sometime between 7-8 and wakes up between 6:15-7:15.

Addison is doing so well, and we are loving every minute of being her parents. Happy 9 month birthday baby girl!! Mommy and daddy love you so very much!
